Work Out of the Day - Choice of Fitness or Performance
WOD classes are offered 4 times a day, 5 days a week so no matter what your schedule, you can stick to your training program. Classes are led by a qualified coach and consist of an active warm-up, skill and strength session, and a METCON workout to develop conditioning. There are two versions of the workout to choose from - a metabolic version for people who's primary goal is to improve fitness; and a performance version geared towards CrossFit athletes.
Workouts are scaled and personalized for each participant so even when the whole class is challenged with the same task, the workload and movements can be adapted for people of different abilities. At CrossFit Banff we do not sacrifice intensity for safety – we strive to achieve both.
Strength club is a specialized class that utilizes power lifting, Olympic lifting and gymnastics to develop strength and power. Our certified coaches will lead you through a targeted mobility warm up to prepare the body and optimize lifting mechanics. If you want to increase functional strength, this is the class for you.
Sport Specific Training

Sport specific training is available for those groups and individuals looking to increase their performance in a specific athletic domain. Dr. William Rajbar specializes in coaching athletes who are recovering from an injury or those with special orthopedic requirements. Dr. Rajbar believes that injured athletes should not stop training as they recover. Instead, recovery is considered an opportunity for athletes to target and develop weak areas, accelerate the healing process, increase functional balance and strength, and advance as an athlete. Dr. Rajbar is able to tailor specific strength and conditioning programs for athletes with chronic orthopedic issues not limited to; Herniated Disks, Sciatica, Rotator cuff tendonitis and various knee issues. Dr. Rajbar will work with you to modify and scale our athletic programming to achieve maximum results while increasing optimal pain free function.
Movement screens are available for CrossFit Banff athletes who want to increase their performance though movement based analysis. The athlete is put through a series of progressive movements, which are designed to expose muscle and joint restrictions that cause weakness in functional positions. The athlete will then be able to quickly and safely target these restrictions through advanced joint mobilization, myofacial release and various other techniques.
Performance Soft Tissue Treatments
Muscle and joint restrictions in the body can cause pain and decreased performance. With advanced knowledge of anatomy and bio-mechanics, Dr. Rajbar can target restricted areas of the body and quickly get rid of years of built up scar tissue and joint restrictions. This allows the athlete to feel better, recover quicker, and optimize movement.
